Step 1 for Tuesday
Assembly drawings of your precedent at three scales:
1. scale of city or town
2. 1/16 (or no larger than 8x11)
3. 1/8” (or no larger then 11x17)
Drawings should includes site plan, every floor plan, sections, and elevations
Also read about the building, find images, diagrams which will help you with your analysis.
Step 2 for Tuesday (one person from the group)
Drawings:
Through varying thicknesses or zones of lines, grid, and figures produce (transparent) overlays which represent the following concepts through the plans and sections of the project:
1. General concept of your precedent
2. Concept of Geometry
3. Concept of Program Assembly- provide multiple frames to represent each level
4. Concept of Circulation - provide multiple frames to represent each level
5. Concept of Structural assembly
6. Concept Enclosure
7. Concept of project base/ ground
8. Concept of project as action
Use colors which are high tech and with similar range, note in photoshop use pantone series.
Step 3 for Tuesday (other person from the group)
Physical models: produce the following models which represent:
1. General concept of your precedent
2. Concept of Geometry
3. Concept of Program Assembly- provide multiple frames to represent each level
4. Concept of Circulation - provide multiple frames to represent each level
5. Concept of Structural assembly
6. Concept Enclosure
7. Concept of project base/ ground
8. Concept of project as action
The scale should be about 1/16” or as indicated above.
